You can never have too much sky. You can fall asleep and wake up drunk on sky, and sky can keep you safe when you are sad.

My solitude doesn’t depend on the presence or absence of people; on the contrary, I hate who steals my solitude without, in exchange, offering me true company.

Date yourself. Take yourself out to eat. Don’t share your popcorn at the movies with anyone. Stroll around an art museum alone. Fall in love with canvases. Fall in love with yourself.

My advice to young people is don’t take any advice. Don’t listen to anyone. Fuck the system, fuck the rules, make it up as you go along — don’t copy what anyone else does, follow your heart, follow your dreams, and eventually you will wake up and you’ll look back at your work and you’ll realize that what you did was honest to yourself.

One of my big concerns these past few years is that I’ve been losing the ability to feel things with the same intensity -the way way I felt when I was younger. It’s scary -to feel your emotions floating away and just not caring. I guess what’s really scary is not caring about the loss.

Of course, you never really forget anyone, but you certainly release them. You stop allowing their history to have any meaning for you today. You let them change their haircut, let them move, let them fall in love again. And when you see this person you have let go, you realize that there is no reason to be sad. The person you knew exists somewhere, but you are separated by too much time to reach them again.
